We are a company of people who are downright passionate about gutter protection. We realize that the idea of “passion” applied to “gutter protection” may seem strange. We know most people hardly ever even think of gutters at all until they have to clean one, or their basement floods.
Those are exactly the kinds of reasons we get fired up about gutter protection. We see what we do as more than just a “business.” We chose this specialty because there are real problems that we wanted to solve in a way that truly made a difference in people’s lives.
What we do saves lives by helping to prevent the astronomical incidents of injuries and fatalities related to cleaning gutters. Poor gutter design means they will clog. We also know that what we do helps homeowners, just like us, avoid preventable damage and expenses from misdirected gutter water causing back-ups and overflows. The root of our passion truly is people.
Leaf Slugger is a privately held company that began in 2001, headquartered in the beautiful hills of Hickory, North Carolina. We founded on the core principles of quality and value. In developing our product, we began with two facts:
The field of water control is a $100 billion industry that exists to fix problems that water causes. Problems can include cracked and flooded basements, damage to fascias, soffits, windows, walls, doors, mold remediation, soil erosion and more. The Insurance Information Institute says there is about a 25% chance that water can cause $15,000 to $40,000 worth of damage to your home at some point.
Unsuccessful attempts at gutter protection have been around since 1906, with chicken wire thrown over gutters to block gutter debris.
Next, we discovered the four major problems of other gutter protection products. Then we applied innovation, engineering and technology, along with the science of water behavior, to correct those design flaws.
Problem 1: When attaching a gutter protection product to a gutter, other products made the gutter weaker.
Our solution: We designed a Speed Bracket™ system, applied every two feet, that strengthens the gutters.
Problem 2: An effective gutter protection system must have an opening into the gutter that functions to direct water into the gutter properly but keeps major debris out.
Our solution: We designed the smallest functional opening in the industry - 3/8”.
Problem 3: Gutter protection must be stable so that it won’t blow away.
Our solution: We designed, tested and certified our system to withstand 110 mile-per-hour wind loads (the equivalent of about a category 2 hurricane) and 190 pounds of pressure. You can stand on it.
Problem 4: A gutter protection system must be strong enough to handle loads like heavy storms, snow, ice and debris without collapsing.
Our solution:We designed a solid attachment system to both the roof and gutter.

The results of our efforts meant we had a gutter protection system and total water management system, not just a system of preventing clogs. Our system was structurally sound and highly functional, earning four U.S. patents for design and utility.

From the moment we introduced our Leaf Slugger™ no-clog gutter protection and water management system, our company growth has been fast and steady. We continue to grow annually, even through fluctuating economies. To date, we have installed the Leaf Slugger™ on over 100,000 gutters - that’s 15 million feet of gutter protection on residential and commercial properties.
The fact that our product works exactly as promised is the reason for our longevity in business. We have outlasted nearly every company that attempts to design a gutter protection product. We have earned loyalty and respect from our customers and business partners who discover no other product compares in innovation and technology.
We offer a full No-Clog Warranty, but the truth is we almost never get service calls or warranty work. Our product simply does not fail, which makes it very easy to stand by. In addition, our customers know we respond to their needs because it’s the right thing to do, not because a paper warranty says we must.

On behalf of all of us at Leaf Slugger, we sincerely thank you for your interest in our company, mission, product and values. We look forward to making you part of the Leaf Slugger family.
